Omah's is a Malaysian Restaurant located at Rouse St, Port Melbourne. Omah's offer both authentic hawker favourites and contemporary Malaysian classics.

The restaurant's interior and decorations are inspired by the Malaysian tea houses. The teak wood furniture and bird cages have been imported from Malaysia.

Look at those bird cages! What a wonderful ideas to put light bulb inside the cages.

Omah's also offer variety of wine. Their wine have been specially chosen from a range of local and imported wines to match the dishes.

Omah's have been awarded the highest 3-star rating by The Age Cheap Eats 2005. The famous food critics Matt Preston also gave a positive review about Omah's. So, out of curiosity, I went to Omah's to try their food.
On your right is 'Nyonya Fish' -
''Steamed fresh Barramundi, filleted, dressed with lemongrass & tamarind sauce. Garnished with fresh coriander'' - their specialty dish and one of the chef's recommendation listed in the menu.

In terms of portion, I think is a bit too small.
However, I would say that the tamarind sauce is delicious.

Next dish is 'Buttered Prawns'- "Large Australian wild prawns coated in fragrant dry egg fluff. Full prawn flavours enhanced with curry leaves & spring onions".

Again, the sauce is the winner. The taste is just unique. The prawns were in a good size too. They're huge and crunchy.

You have a choice of either steamed rice, coconut rice or roti to enjoy the dishes.

Overall score: 6.8/10
